My class

It is a dynamic session and, like all dynamic ones, it derives from Ashtanga which is a yoga deeply rooted in a long tradition.

The lessons are a great supplement for those who practice other styles of yoga and other activities and /or for those who want to master some sequences (such as the sun salutation) and practice them by themselves other days of the week.

My class is always different and consists of a progressive approach: after a period of activation to prepare the mind and body physiologically, the dynamic part starts until  it gradually decreases with softer sequences leading to the guided final relaxation.

A sort of energy wave that “ rides” ujjayi, the breath typical of this discipline that carries many interrelated benefits. The dynamicity of the practice is not so much in relation to the speed of execution of movements but to the fact that every single asana (position) is connected to the next one, creating a continuous flow.

It is an intense and PROGRESSIVE cardiovascular work in which to sustain the body weight in a combination of positions while breathing dynamically and moving smoothly into new positions. Strength and precision are therefore built making the joints stronger and more elastic and free from tensions .

It works on five main factors:

• Breath control

• Flexibility

• Balance

• Strength

• Resistance

It offers spiritual, health (mind and body) and aesthetic benefits at the same time.  Suitable for anyone according to personal limits, it is indicated for the increase in strength, flexibility and endurance, to improve balance and posture, for weight loss, muscle toning, stress reduction, spine and back health and, at last, to relax.

During the practice, through breath control we attain body control and, at the same time, it is the breath that creates the rhythm for the movements.

.

What to bring:

- Yoga mat (or a thick beach towel) in many cases provided depending on the location.

- Small face towel (optional)

- Comfortable layers clothing (you sweat!) depending on the temperature of the day

- Something to cover yourself up for the final relaxation since the body temperature drops and is generally colder.

Directions:

To practice with bare feet or socks and on an empty stomach and possibly drinking before and after but not during. It usually lasts 1hr and 20 but variable on request.

The word Yoga means union and balance. With the practice of yoga we go hand in hand with the changes while it brings the body, mind and spirit into balance.  Yoga cultivates calm and helps the mind to focus, makes the body strong and flexible, gives feelings of completion, satisfaction and peace.
